PRINTS FOR SALE AT: [link]

ORIGINAL SOLD

This piece was a commission for an 'orange and green' theme. I worked with the soundtrack of Memoirs of a Geisha and came up with this. It's actually hard to have colours in your mind already, because the music is supposed to bring colours TO the painting... so I had to work backwards and find a piece that had orange and green in the music...

I did see part of Memoirs of a Geisha. I had read the book also, previously, and though it was visually beautiful and had great music, I sort of lost interest because the story was so unlike the book. Ah well, that's what usually happens. :)

I love your art! They seems so life like. Perhaps its also in part of my own imagination. I think one reason its so fascinating to me cuz everyone see something different when its abstract... there is no right & wrong, night or day. Its kinda like the ink blob test in psychology cuz it works the same way. LOL

Anyways I was wondering how do you come up with your title for many of your abstract pieces of work?

Thank you!
Yeah, I agree with you about abstract art - it is so personal and subjective that everyone will look at it differently! I think it's wonderful :)

hmm... well the titles are generally taken from a basic understanding of what the music piece is about, and mixing that with the feeling or emotions I get from doing the piece at the same time... So this one, for instance, felt like someone on the run - full of drama and fear in a way - so I called it 'take courage with you' to bring out the light and hope in the music as well... if any of this makes sense?

Youre welcome! :D

Yeah it does. I was just wondering cuz they seems so perfect. Even without the music the title seems so perfect but the music would aid the cause as well giving the audience a better understanding of the what the artist was trying to portray.

hi, I just saw this while surfing, and I think it's beautiful :) As someone who's more focused on realistic paintings, I have great admiration for those who can do abstract well, one that evokes emotion as well as appreciation for the piece itself. Nice piece! :)

Thank you so much! and for the :+fav:
I used to be a photorealist actually! lol. But I became discontent with copying images, and felt I needed to express my soul more - so these are just experimental images - still not sure if I can do abstracts, but it's very encouraging to here that someone else thinks I can - so thank you :)

"But I became discontent with copying images, and felt I needed to express my soul more" I know what you mean, I felt that way too, but I have not yet had the inspiration to step into abstract ;) Good luck!

This one turned out great, too! Looks like working backwards did not hurt a bit. All of the vibrancy in the first one is here again! Beautiful piece of work!

Thanks so much :) I decided to work on it a bit more today... there's something that I'm not quite happy with so it should look a little different soonish... And again, thanks for all your support
